Flying the new British Airways Club Suite

Flying the new British Airways Club Suite

To Madrid and back in 5 hours

British Airways announced their new business class offering, known as Club Suite which effectively replaces the older Club World seat.

The first aircraft to be fitted with the new Club Suite is their brand new Airbus A350 which started flying the Dubai and Toronto routes from 1st September 2019.

Part of the certification process for this new aircraft meant BA flying the A350 to Madrid for a few weeks to train the crew.

I decided to give it a go and flew back to back one evening so my itinerary was:

15.30 - arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 5 First Wing

15.40 - guested into Concorde Room by a friend

16.40 - fly to Madrid

19:40 - forty minutes for duty free shopping and drink in the lounge before boarding the same A350

21.45 - fly back to London

23.30 - arrive home to a wife who couldn’t understand why I would fly to Madrid for a 45 minute stopover.
